This Privacy Policy explains how Mellow ("we", "our", or "the app") handles your information. We respect your privacy and have designed Mellow to be a simple, private, offline-first music player.
Mellow does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information about you. There is no account, no login, no analytics, no advertisement, and no cloud service. Everything you listen to stays on your device.
Mellow stores the following data locally on your device only:
This data never leaves your device and is used solely to run the app's core functions. You can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing app data.

To let you import and play your own audio, Mellow requests the media/audio permission (READ_MEDIA_AUDIO on supported devices, falling back to READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on older Android versions) so it can scan and play the music stored on your device. You will be asked for this permission the first time you use the app, and you can grant, deny, or revoke it at any time from the permission page in settings or your device's system settings.
Mellow does not upload your music anywhere, and it does not read messages, contacts, photos, or other personal files. Imported playlists remain stored locally on your device.
With your permission, Mellow sends notifications so you can control playback (play / pause / next / previous) from the notification shade or the lock screen, including when the app is in the background. The connection to display this notification is established on your device and does not involve a network connection.
Mellow does not integrate with any third-party advertising, analytics, or content-delivery services. The app operates independently and does not rely on any external servers.
Mellow is an offline-first player. In its production (release) build it does not request internet access and therefore does not transmit any data over the network.
Mellow is intended for general audiences and is safe to use by everyone. Because we collect no personal data, there is nothing to obtain parental consent for.
Since no personal data is collected by us, deletion of your data is simply handled on your end — remove the app, and all locally stored playlists and preferences are erased from your device.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
